The story behind how I ended up in the web marketing team at Intergage is an interesting one.

With my background being in fitness, you were more likely to see me at the gym than sitting behind a computer; however this wasn’t always the case.

At 14 years old I was your average teenager, sitting behind the computer all day getting square eyes. I began to teach myself code and started building websites, however as my interest in fitness grew my time for anything digital dwindled.

It was in college that I qualified as a fitness instructor and gained my first job in the industry at a local gym. My experiences here made me decide to take my passion for fitness further, and I went on to gain a degree in fitness and personal training from Southampton Solent University.

My background in the leisure industry allowed me to move in to traditional marketing as I became a Marketing Co-ordinator for a large leisure centre in Hampshire.

Ironically the path that led me away from the web, took me right back as the resident physiotherapist asked me to help build them a ‘Google friendly’ website.

It was from here on out that I was well in truly hooked on everything web related again; from PPC, web design and even copywriting.

Trying to gain as much experience as I could, I managed to understand more about the SEO world and how SEO practices were undertaken by the specialists.

Realising this was the route I wanted to take I began looking for digital marketing agencies that specialised in web marketing. However, as luck would have it Intergage found me.

My role within the team is to help deliver fantastic results for our web marketing clients, which includes a variety of different and interesting activities.

One day you’ll find me learning about Google’s algorithm updates and others you will find me writing blogs and optimising content.

Having been given the opportunity to become the in house Google+ expert, I’ll also soon be delivering the Google+ workshop.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with the four most important women in my life – my beautiful fiancée Ellen and our three Jack Russels, Lexsie, Willow and Pippa.

I am also a huge football fan – you will often find me donning a red shirt down at St Mary’s stadium cheering on Southampton FC.

I also spend a lot of my spare time after work playing tennis which although I enjoy, I am in fact pretty terrible at it.

That’s me introduced! Remember to keep an eye on the blog posts from my team regarding all aspects of web marketing.
